The Lenovo Legion Go 2 price skyrockets to $2,000

Lenovo Legion Go 2 (1)

The Lenovo Legion Go 2 has received a price increase, and while Lenovo hasn’t made any sort of official announcement about it yet, you can already see the new prices for the handheld at retailers like Best Buy. It probably goes without saying, but the RAM and storage shortage is more than likely to blame here. This is the same set of factors that has been causing a price increase for several different tech products across multiple industries. It’s why SSDs and RAM kits have ballooned in price over the past few months. It’s also why gaming laptops and desktops now cost hundreds if not thousands more than they did a year or two ago.

Smartphones are another big tech product hit by this shortage. And more recently, Sony’s PS5 and PS5 Pro went up in price officially, as of this week in fact. Now it’s the Legion Go 2’s turn, it would appear, and the price jump is a rather big leap compared to the launch price.

The Lenovo Legion Go 2 price sees an increase of nearly 50%

When the Legion Go 2 officially launched in October of 2025, the price started at $1,099.99 for the base model. This model came with an AMD Z2 chip, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The most expensive model, which has the AMD Z2 Extreme chip with 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD, retailed for $1,479.99 There was also a model for $1,199.99, and one for $1,349.99. That last model, which comes with 1TB of storage, an AMD Z2 Extreme, and 32GB of RAM, is the one that has shot up in price to $1,999.99.

So there’s the kicker. You aren’t even buying the most beefy model. The one with 2TB of storage is likely hundreds more than that. With prices this high, consumers are sure to wonder if the price is worth it. That depends on what you really want out of a handheld. Even at their regular prices, the Legion Go 2 models were expensive. It’s also worth considering the alternatives.

The Legion Go 2 with 1TB of storage and 32GB of RAM isn’t much different from the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X. Both are powered by the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme chip. Both have 1TB of storage. Sure, the Xbox Ally X has 24GB of RAM instead of 32GB. It also has a 120Hz display and not 144Hz. It’s a smaller display as well. That being said, it also costs $999.99. Literally half the price of the Legion Go 2 for what will be a pretty similar gameplay experience.
