GTA 6 claimed to be an absolutely massive download

GTA 6 is going to be a big game, but not just in scale of the in-game world and all the things you can do in it, also in download file size according to newly leaked information about how much storage space the game will take up on your hard drive.

A game like GTA 6 having a large download file size is to be expected. Games like that aren’t small, as is evidenced by the download size of other Rockstar titles like Red Dead Redemption 2, which is 119GB. Even games like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 are about 126GB, and the upcoming Phantom Blade 0, which launches today at 7PM PST for people on the West coast, is about 140GB. According to the leaked information, GTA 6 will eclipse all of these games.

The GTA 6 download file size is claimed to be around 210GB

According to an account on X named ‘PlayStation Game Size,’ GTA 6 will be 210GB, a hefty download for a hefty game. It isn’t made clear if this will be the full file size of the download after the game is installed, or if this is just how much space the game will need during the installation process. Phantom Blade 0, for example, is 140GB, but the game needs about 300GB of space on the drive while the game is installing.

In addition to the file size, it’s also claimed that pre-load for GTA 6 will begin on November 12, a full week before the game’s release. This is earlier than a lot of games. Modern Warfare 4 wasn’t available for pre-load until just a few days before. Onimusha: Way of the Sword was the same. Phantom Blade 0 pre-loads opened up on October 26, with the game officially launching on October 29. PlayStation Game Size is also claiming that the game will go live at midnight on November 19.
