GTA 6 will be streamable via Xbox come November

GTA 6 has been confirmed to be coming to Xbox when it comes to game streaming, however there are some things that haven’t been confirmed or clarified as part of this information. It was initially reported that GTA 6 streaming would be exclusive to the Xbox platform, and that’s actually not the case. According to Xbox CSO Matthew Ball on X, the streaming rights to GTA 6 will not be exclusive.

Sony hasn’t mentioned anything about streaming the game via PlayStation Plus Premium, but with no Xbox exclusivity it would be possible. The other detail that Matthew Ball mentions is that it won’t be streaming on PC. “While the excitement for GTAVI and XBOX is great to see, it has also led to some misreporting. We are looking forward to launching GTAVI on XBOX November 19, though the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC,” Ball says in a Tweet on X.

Microsoft secures Xbox streaming rights for GTA 6

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has reportedly teased in an all-hands meeting on the morning of October 6 that Xbox players will be able to stream GTA 6. According to The Verge, the streaming capability will begin in November when the game launches, which happens on November 19. This is also right around the time that Xbox is making changes to its Game Pass tiers, which will set time limits on streaming hours per month. Players who want more time beyond the allotted amount will be able to pay for additional streaming hours.

GTA 6 is one of the most anticipated games this year and fans have been waiting a very long time for this release. GTA 5 launched all the way back at the end of the PS3 era. GTA 6 promises an incredibly huge map available for players to get lost in, with a game map that Rockstar says is much bigger than the one in Red Dead Redemption 2. The campaign also won’t take players through every area, forcing them to explore a lot if they want to see everything the game has to offer.
